Default Help with wheel hop.....Please!

I've been going through a lot of the older threads to get some suggestions for how to cure my wheel hop. The wheel hop has never occured on the street, only when I took it to the dragstrip for the first time last week. The wheel hop was horrible and it killed my 60' times (bests were 2.209 and 2.210). I'm going to first try to remedy this with some new LCA's, as almost everybody has these and seem to get good results. If anyone out there can recommend a paticular brand and let me know which ones you run and how well they work I would surely appreciate it.

Have you upgraded your stock tires?

Still have the 255 summer Pirellis that came with the brembo pkg. Will be switching to some 275/40/19 Nittos out back in a month or two, along with a tune and CAI. How did the J&M's work for you truckbutt. I was looking into those or the UPRs http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-c...stomer-reviews or Stranos http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...201&ModelID=35

There's a kit specific to wheel hop that relocates the front pivot of the upper link. That moves the instant center back in the car and will help. Sometimes, it's hard to cure with short sidewall tires.
Lowering the car will help a good deal, too.

Did you go through the "water box"? Maybe your tires were still a little wet?

Really couldn't help but go through the "water box," the way the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is set up. I did spin the tires a bit to try to remove any debris/water, but even then the wheel hop was pretty wild, even shifting into second. I would have to try a hard launch on a wet surface that I have never wheel hopped on before to be sure that is not the issue....kind of hard to do in the desert though

Also, did the CHE's give you good results?

Excellent results, rear is a lot for stable on turns, no wheel hop, more sure footed.

The only thing that will really stop your hop is an upper control arm. The lowers will also help, but will not stop the hop by themselves. No matter what anyone tells you, the upper is the only part that will stop the hop. Its the only part that controls the axle twist. Not the lowers. Springs can help too, but again, not alone. Get the upper.
