I would have to disagree that peak numbers are the "real deal."

I too agree that there is more to it than peak numbers. The torque gain is what typically impresses.

from what ive seen this is correct about what was said about the hp numbers. the peak numbers companies normally quote are hp gains at the engine but at the tires are a different story. with the steeda tune and full system borla on an a/t i jumped from 353 to 394, at the same time my numbers at the engine went to the 498 area. granted the a/t sucks more power than the m/t its still a pretty impressive gain in the long run. the tune you go with will be well worth it but i personally went with steeda cause my dream is to build a newer version of the Q650 before steeda advertises it and cause from what ive researched about steeda there is no long term tranny effects.

I have this very same set-up, and yes, there is a definite power increase. Is it 60 HP more? I don't think it is, but when I step on it with the 93 octaine tune, the car really jets off like a rocket.

Now I never put my car on a dyno, much less a before and after comparison. So I do not know conclusively with hard numbers to back this up. But as for a non-dyno before and after comparison, I can definitely feel the the power increase. Much more torque even at the lower RPM ranges.

You'll see a LOT of variation here based on 'how' it was dyno'd and which brand of dyno...I've tried 2 different 93 Octane tunes w/my Steeda CAI on my 2012 manual GT and my best dyno run was 370 rwhp using a 'loaded' dynojet 224x, which is a gain of about 12 hp for me.

i've seen dynosheets of up to 405whp with a cai+tune, i've seen stock cars dyno from 360-375whp.

What's important to keep in mind is the 1/4 mile #s tell you more of what you gain. so far I dont know what people gain from tune only to adding a cai. I'm guessing not more than .1 and 1mph.

However, I've seen someone with o/r X and a boss intake manifold on a stock intake go from i believe it was 390whp to 415whp. 25 whp gained there. should be good for .2 in the quarter mile at that point.

So like was already said in this thread, with full bolt-ons going from a stock air box to a CAI you'll probably see a lot better gains than just throwing a CAI on an otherwise stock car. Since the good CAI+tuner costs about 300-400 more than just a tuner it kind of depends on if you think it's worth it. you can get an O/R pipe for 200-400. boss intake for 400. I think realistically it's best to bundle the 3 together if possible.

Just a question for those running 93 octane tune.

What type of gas mileage are you seeing with CAI/Tune on the 93? (Compared to stock tune)

I could give a rat's *** about peak gains. I just want more power under the curve.

Boss intake is a waste unless you need gains in the upper rpm range.
