alright guys got a quick question about this new '12 gt i picked up 2 wks ago. ive had an 07 and 08 gt and understand the sh***y drive by wire throttle system. but when you lift off the accelerator it feels like the first thing the motor wants to do is find idle and slow down. and it feels like u hit a brick wall and lose all momentum. does anyone else feel this? happens in any gear.

If you're closing the throttle completely, that's exactly what I would expect to happen. I've found the Drive-by-Wire system to be pretty agreeable, especially with some tweaking from a tune.

In your signature you say you have a manual.

That's how manuals are supposed to work.

It's called engine braking. When you let off the throttle, the engine creates a large drag, but is still hooked up to the driveline, and thus slows it down.

You do know how engines work, yes...?

^^^What he said. If you want to coast like you do in an automatic, you have to step on the clutch when you let off the gas.

My 2012 brakes a lot faster than my 2010.

The '11-'12 has a much more extreme form of engine braking that uses little to no fuel. It slows the car down a lot faster, and is more efficient.

Does engine braking with a manural transmission hurt the engine or clutch? (aside from extreme braking)
