airaid CAI & SCT SF3/X3 tuner issues

Hello, I have a 2011 5.0, manual 6 sd, convertable i have installed the airaid CAI, Roush axle backs, and SCT SF3/X3 tuner. initial install car was running real rough. called back American Muscle and they informed me to take the insert tube out of CAI. reinstalled the tuner to preformance setting ran good. this morning on the way to work, check engine light came on. called AM back, they said to pull the code and that they would see what was happening and try to adjust the tune if need be. i was just wondering if anyone else was running this setup and if they had or was experiencing issues like this. thanks, hopefully pull the codes this afternoon when i get home...:icon_rant:

Without pulling your code, I don't think anyone can help you out very much.

Sorry to hear your issue! Is your Airaid CAI (no tune required), like mine? If so, have you tried changing your custom tune back to stock settings, until a resolution is provided by AM?

Yeah, all depends on what the code is really. Plug in the X3 and read the DTC code.

Well we don't have gas caps but here's what the site says.

P0455

Technical Description

Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak)

What does that mean?

This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

Symptoms:

You likely won't notice any drivability problems.

Causes: A code P0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

•A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
•A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
•Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system

Possible SolutionsWith a p0455, the most common repair is to:

•Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
•Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
•Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair as necessary.

P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)

So either you didn't tighten up your gas cap, or you forgot to hook up the vacuum line on the intake or it came loose. Give it a check and make sure it is all hooked up correctly.

Edit: 2011+ doesn't have a gas cap? Weird.

Could still be the vacuum line...

I'd bet that's it, I know on my 05 you can't see it good because it is on the bottom of the tube, so I can see how it would be easy to miss.

Other than the fact that he doesn't (nor does any 2011-2012 Mustang GT) have a fuel cap.... Check your vacuum lines and go from there. You're not going to have a dry rotted evap line with a 2011. Most likely a hose came loose or you forgot to connect one during install.
