Default Took my 2011 GT/CS to the dyno...

Well, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I traded in what was left of my parted out 2003 Mustang GT and purchased a 2011 Mustang GT/CS (6-Speed w/ 3.73's). I love this car. It is crazy nice. A huge upgrade from my last car.

A local club had a dyno day this past saturday. I was able to get a spot and they made three pulls (no tuning, just to see what it put down as is). The only performance mods done to this car right now is a Borla ATAK axle back and a C&L CAI (no tune). The results of the three pulls are below. My third pull ended with 400 rwhp/ 383 rwtq. I was shocked. I cant believe that the car put this down nearly stock. These new 5.0's are awesome. Next thing will be to get a tune (thinking we could see about 420 rwhp after this) and some sticky tires for the track next year. I am very happy with the results. Now to work on my driver mod with this new 6-speed

Holy cow! I didn't put down that much with mods+tune ... Was that on a dynojet or a mustang dyno?

OH, BTW:
They did'nt have a tuner at the dyno where you could get it tuned?
Why did you get a C&L without a tune?
Did you buy it used and just not have the chance to get a tune yet or what?

Nice numbers BUT....

Kinda wasting that C&L without a tune buddy!

The car was on the dyno at Excessive Motorsports in Manassas Va. They have a DynoJet. And, because I was asked this before, it was pulled in 5th gear. It was just a dyno day, so they werent doing any tuning. I have the intake and the tuner, but I dont trust mail order tunes. I am waiting untill after the holiday to take it back in and get it tuned. The C&L has the "No Tune Required" tube in it right now. We had a 2011 GT 6-speed that went on the dyno after mine and put down 387 rwhp 380 rwtq with just GT500 mufflers. Videos are being loaded up now of each run with the dyno graphs. I will link them once they are all uploaded. We have video being uploaded of all of the pulls and dyno graphs. I will link them up once they are uploaded.

I have to wonder if that dyno is just reading on the high side then... Those numbers are very high for stock cars. Conventional wisdom (15% drivertrain loss) puts the other car at 447 BHP and you at 470BHP. That is too much above factory numbers to really even be possible with just axlebacks which really do little/nothing for power.

Haters gonna hate. Ha j/k. It was spot on with other cars running all day. All I can say is that's what it said for me.

Well, if a lot of stock-ish '11-'12 GTs were putting down those numbers it's safe to say that dyno is reading on the high side. We know with a relatively high degree of certainty that MOST stock GTs aren't putting down 380-400, and the numbers just don't match up. 412 BHP should come out to approximately 350RWHP and it's not been uncommon to see a stock GT put down 360. You're talking about a whole group of cars putting down 30-50 RWHP more than the factory rating.

Only 2 stockish gt's ran. There was a mix of stangs, vettes, etc. That put down there expected numbers. I didn't expect everyone to believe it so take it as you will.

Very good numbers even if the dyno is reading somewhat high.
All dynos vary a little we all know, but yeah this seems pretty darn high.

Still, I'd say you have a rock solid 5.0 running good numbers even if
that dyno is running high.

Very cool man!
When you get your dyno tune done, have them to do a base run so you can see
what numbers it is pulling on THAT dyno, and the actual gain you get!
