WRENCH LIGHT COMING ON, 2011 GT
OK, i have a 2011 GT 5.0, i have the Roush axle backs, Airaid CAI, BAMA tune set at 91 Performance. i recently installed a JLT oil seperator on the passenger side. after installing my wife would say the Wrench light would come on and car loses power, does not stop running, but you try to excellarate and it does nothing. well the light doesn't stay on to try to pull a code. so i have been tring different things. i pulled the JLT seperator off and put the Stock vaccume line back on. went drive the car and it did OK. My wife calls me the morning again said it came back on after a while. it kinda all started when the weather started getting cold. low 30 this morning. seems like enything below 45 degrees is when the car is acting up. the only other thing i will try is taking it off the programmer and put the stock tube in the CAI. ???????????????? anyone have any comments. its really pissing me off.
thanks

The light doesn't have to be on in order to pull the code. It would be nice to see some datalogs when the light actually does come on but..... Go have someone pull the codes and report back. Nobody can give you any reliable advice without knowing why it's setting the MIL.

OP, it sounds like you are throwing a soft-code(one that briefly turns on the CEL but does not keep it illuminated). Without a code, I can't really help diagnose the problem. So, give our tuning specialists a call at 888-226-9764 and they will gladly help you troubleshoot this and get you back to 100% ASAP. I hope this helps and I apologize for any inconvenience! Please feel free to PM me directly if you have any questions in the future! Good luck!
I plugged in the BAMA tuner and of course, no code... soft-code it is looks like. Hoping someone can figure out this problem!
Found out also today that my fuel line going from where you pump gas to the gas tank was broken also... hoping that was my problem but if not... I'm just a little freaked out about the tune causing some issue.

wrench light
i finally found the problem i was having, took the dealer three days then four days to fix. it was the throttle by wire sensor was going bad. thanks for the help. car has been running good.

The best thing, if it happens again, is to plug in and read the code WITHOUT turning off the car. This sounds like throttle body wiring or sensor as well, because that is the most common thing that makes a car go into "failsafe mode" where it cuts all power, as you explained.
I'm pretty confident that you're having the same issue as Darin, above!
Hope this helps!

Curious though... if I replaced my stock intake with a JLT cold air intake, is that going to be my fault for it going bad or does this have nothing to do with me installing a new intake? If the CAI voids warranty for this part, I won't bring it in and will fix on my own but if it's a part that only goes bad if it goes bad, then I'll have Ford take a look at it. Thanks for the replies. I was hoping it wasn't a tune issue but wasn't sure. Found on other sites on older Mustangs that this seems to be a common issue with throttle/MAF failures causing the limp of death...
I also noticed my fittings were a little loose on my CAI so I tightened that up yesterday after work. That may be my issue too. I put the CAI on the car cold, after you drive the car for a while and turn it off, I think a good suggestion is to retighten those clamps again while the rubber tubing is warm and more pliable.
I'll post an update if I figure anything out on this.

Changed to performance tune again and haven't had wrench come back yet. Waiting for response from AM to see about a new race tune... may be a failing MAF / sensor type issue though. Never had a chance to get the code during a wrench... since I'm doing 65 when it kicks on and there's no shoulder to pull over on safely.
