as stated, previous owner broke it and traded it back in. doesn't matter if its a woman or a man. sounds like you'll be getting a fresh start on it at least. Mine had gear whine as soon as i drove it, and i ordered my car, still had 16 miles on it before I got it. new gears fixed the problem. I'm willing to bet some ******* from the ford dealership took it for a drive because it wasn't there when I got to the dealership. they didn't treat it nicely. Other people I know who have had ordered cars only had 3-6 miles on them when they picked them up.

From what I gather... They have to tear down the motor and the tranny before corp makes the final decision.
The install? day and half.

And no, they didn't tear down the tranny or motor on the last installs; I'm trying to remember if they did on the other 2 trannies or not.

I'm getting worried. I have 20,000 miles and have the cold rattle before the engine is warm. It happens between 2-3000 rpm and goes away after about 5 min. There is a TSB regarding this sound, and the fix is to change the warmup cycle via flash.
I guess I better bite the bullet and leave my car at a stealership ;(

Based on mine:

Cold startup it was a tap, but it always tapped even when warmed up. Lower rpms with medium gas. COULD only hear with windows up, radio and AC off. Or against a wall.

No way in hell it sounded like the major problem that it is.

I called today just to ask what the issue is... I would like to research it. Honestly I think they're a little backed up. I will just wait and keep getting 30 MPGS in the future mustang; AKA FUSHION rental car they supplied.

Still lost on trans replacement though.

EXACTLY what I thought at first! I couldn't tell you how surprised I was that my engine needed to be replaced.

I kept telling the SM that I needed to have the PCM updated to cure this rattle and he kept saying I already was up to date; get updated, then if it still happens have them run some tests.

Well

7 and 8 pistons were cracked and the walls were scorched
intake has been off and someone put a wrong bolt back in before trading LOL
rear main seal has been replaced. New one was bulging out and leaking, but clutch was clean LOL... suppose they put OEM clutch back in....
trans has been out at least twice - dented firewall in a few places while doing it
has a wrong bolt in the oil pan

Bearing between input/output shaft in trans IS SHOT - Tech advised a blower was most likely installed and it's seen some abuse at the track most likely.

Outcome:
yanked rental car today because ford told them they were not going to pay anymore.
field tech coming in tomorrow to most likely deny the claim

The dealer I bought it from said if ford does not warranty they will back the deal out.

What more can you ask for......

So... that being said, did I see the full power? Will the next one be faster?

Now - get the rebate on a 12 model

Oh yea - they took me back to look at it; so depressing.

Motor in 100 pieces. I seen the dents in firewall and tech showed me where the shifter bolts were still loose. It was never put back the right way.
