Boss 302 Intake

Boss 302 Intake
I just bought my 5th mustang and it is a 2012 GT. I have been reading some good things about the boss intake but that it is pointless unless you set your rev limiter to around 7800 rpm's. I am nervous about taking the rev limiter that much higher than the factory setting.
Does anyone know if these engines can handle 7800 rpm's or is that just asking for failure?
Thanks

1) I'm sure it can handle it
2) I don't think you need to set it to 7800, pretty sure my tune is set somewhere around 7600 and even then I'm sure you could tune it around 7200-7300 and probably still see some gains.

Thanks.
No there are some differences if you google it you can see what the differences are (ported heads, forged pistons, and powder coated rods) but it's not so different that the GT can't handle an upgraded intake. There are a couple of guys on here running it and they seem to like it. If you give it time I'm sure they'll chime in, also use the search feature you can probably find a couple of threads on it.

thing you have to watch out for with the boss intake is it is more for strip cars hitting the track, for street use you will actually lose some torque down low where you need it and gain a little up top around your rev limiter if you dont have a tune.

I'd give up a loss of a about 10lbs of torque for a gain of 30hp easily, plus all the hp with that intake is made at the top, when you are shifting from 7500rpm at WOT the next gear kicks in at about 5000rpm where you are making most of the hp as you continue to go through the gears.
