When I had my Crown Vic, I went from 3.27 to 3.55 and it was a noticeable difference, totally worth it! As far as having to re tune it, it is not necessary, it will work fine, but for optimum shifting a re tune will be necessary.

LOL, horrible advice.

I put 3.55 in a 2011 and love it. Pulls harder, rpms at 1800 at 60 and milage seems to stay close.

What about 70 or 75mph.

learning, I'm glad to hear from someone that has the 3.55 in a new GT and likes it.
How does it launch off the line?
Do you have 235 tires or did you go with wider ones?
I'm thinking I would like to put in a 3.55 and go with 255s all around.

I made a spreadsheet for the axle ratios. Going to 3.55 takes my 75mph RPM from 2050 to 2300. I think I can deal with that. I'll consider it even more if I don't break into 11s this weekend.

I went with the 3.55 as I did not want to purchase new tires. The stock tires stick and throws your out of the hole hard. Shifting seems dead on. I will have to check rpms at higher speed with cruise on. Seems like if I am going faster than 60 I have my foot on it screwing around.

I have had my 3.55s in for about 6 months, I think. Completely satisfied. I posted a spreadsheet awhile back that shows and auto with 3.55 has about the same overall gearing as a manual with a 3.73, at least in the lower gears. It is plenty quick!
