Default 5 SPEED TO 6 SPEED

I know there have been alot of discussions on this 6 speed
transmission. I have a '08 Bullitt and just purchased a 2013
GT. There are some differences in letting out the clutch, that
I've noticed along with some of the noises.

I suppose, I most notice the difference while I'm downshifting.
For example, going into a turn or having to slow down for slower
traffic, etc. I was curious if others have experienced this or have
a better technique in getting used to this 6 speed transition for
me.

Thanks,
Kev.

I just got my 2013 6 speed also. Congrats by the way. Anyways, I've noticed that this transmission is a bit noisy. Not only during downshifts but also just shifting around town. I guess it gives our babies an even more muscle car feel lol.

I acquired the 2013, by getting rid of a 2012 by the way. Not for a
transmission problem rather for burning oil. I took the car in several
times for having to add approximately a quart every 800 miles. This
with a car that had a total of 4000 miles when I finally had enough.
Ford of course was running a oil consumption test during this time
period. Long story short -- they told me this was normal, the engine
has a 10,000 mile break in period. So, I ditched it -- let the next person
that buys it have the problem. So far so good with the 2013 in oil
department.

I only have 800 miles so far on the 2013, this transmission takes a little
getting used to. Plus like you said, it is a bit noisy -- maybe like yours not
all the time? It seems to shift "like butter", than other times not so much.
The downshifting on the car, I'm still trying to get used to which is
different on my Bullitt and the 88 5.0 I traded the car in for (well the
2012 actually). Which, I am sure is me getting used to the different
gear ratio on a 6 speed.

I traded in my 2010 GT auto for my 2013. I agree there are days where shifting is a dream and others where it's a little notchy. This was the best choice I ever made. I'm going on two weeks this Saturday and I should hit 200 miles either tomorrow or Friday. I opened her up today on the on-ramp and boy did she fly. I have the 3.73 now and was used to the the 3.31 my 2010 came with. So I ow what you mean by getting used to 2013. This is my far the best car I ever owned.

Totally inconsistent. That's how mine has felt from day 1 (I have an '11). Despite my worries, it's held together for 24,000 miles. Just "personality" I guess.
