Default FRPP ProCal and gears

I have a 2013 GT/CS automatic stock so it has 3:15 gears.
Only thing I have added was Borla S-type. Best mufflers in my opinion.
Anyway, my question.

I am reluctant to just go all out and install a CAI and tune , from AM or C&L, because of warranty reasons.

So if I had dealer install the FRPP ProCal tuner, to make my car feel like I just added a bunch of power, similiar to doing a custom tuner, would installing gears at the same time help and if so what would be the best choice for the auto,,3:31, 3:55, 3;73

Thanks

You need to drive them all! I had 3.31 in my 07 GT, 3.55 in my 04 Cobra, and 3.73 in my current 5.0. I can't stand the tall gears for everyday driving. A shift a ton and first gear is about worthless. IMHO, I like 3.55s. But to each their own. Try them at all the dealer.

Also, the CAI and tuner won't give you warranty problems unless the parts were a direct cause of the issues. IE A CAI won't give you a problem if your radio stops working. I was actually talking to my service center about this today.

What's your idea of "good". The fastest N/A autos are running 3.31's. 4.10's will have you shifting into 4th before crossing the line.

Without a tune the dealer cannot change gears with the autos because it was not an option with anything but 3.15's. That includes the Procal. The question is what are your plans with the car? A tune would make you feel differently about a gear change. My car with the stock 3.15's will roast the tires if I don't feather the throttle. These transmissions have 4.17's for first gears thus making the rears closer to 3.55's-3.73's.

Agreed. The Procal makes so much torque down low compared to stock you're going to love it, even with the soft rear gears.

That is actually not true with the Procal. I just called Ford Racing tech line today and he said I could change the gears and use the Procal to adjust for the gears. And he said if I want more feel of power to go with 3:73's.
I had a 2011 V6 with stock 2:73's and got 31 mpg.
After CAI, tune from AM, BBK long tube, X pipe and Ford Racing 3:73's
my mpg dropped to 24.5 at best on a 1100 mile trip one way.

So if I did 3:73 with 2013 GT auto, my mpg would probably be even worse.
I will be install Procal on 9-14. at dealer.

Sorry but the Ford racing Tech person you spoke to is an idiot. You cannot adjust for any other gears on the autos with the Procal because that is the only gear that was offered in them.

I have asked them twice. Tomorrow I will call again and ask and even tell them I heard that I cannot adjust for a gear change with the Procal in my 2013 automatic. I will report back what he, the idiot, says again.
I will also call my dealer tomorrow and tell them I want to also do a gear change and see what they say.

I do not know what gear to change to: 3:31, 3:55, 3:373
