FWIW - I would not buy a Mustang unless it had a V8. Just my 2 cents.

haha, agreed, the v8 is a lot cooler, and if the v6 lacks the LSD and 8.8 rear then that needs corrected to be any good from a stop.

I guess if i was in the OP's situation though, looking at losing money on selling a 1 year old car and then paying likely an additional 8-10k on an engine.. I think i'd look into a turbo or supercharger instead

Default rear 8.8

I believe the V6 and V8 both have the same rear 8.8

Yes, both Mustangs have the 8.8 rear end. 2010 was the last year for the 28 spline 7.5 in a Mustang. 2011 brought the 31 spline 8.8 to both models of the Mustang. The last Ford I knew of with the 7.5 rear were the 4 cylinder Rangers. For what ever that is worth. $8k would seem like an awful amount of money for ME to spend on modding a V6. To me there are a lot of other options on the table as far as modding his current ride. Has the OP thought of a used GT?

There you have it. I believe that your quote was, "that car was fast". To the OP. I hope this is all making sense.

UPDATE: Just drove the 5.0 Automatic in Birmingham. The engine sounded better than the radio! Was very smooth, but the dealership was in the heart of down town B'ham, and I-65 and I-20 were packed so really didn't get the performance frame-of-reference I needed to begin to make a decision. Couldn't really focus on the engine in that traffic. Loved the 19" Pirellis, GPS package and dual zone a/c, all the bells and whistles, and with the engine, the sticker was only 40,900. Thanks so much for everybody's input.

2013 Mustang GT Premium, 19" Pirelli wheels, Auto Trans., every imaginable electronic goodie including the GPS package. No Brembo No Recaro. It is a Shaker stereo, but not the one with the sub-woofer in the trunk. Two A/C auto zones, heated seats, that's about it.

My question is that the total sticker is forty-one thousand ($41,000). How much off the sticker amount can I expect the dealer to cut off when dealing on a GT in the 40K range? If I offer them $37,000, does that have a reasonable chance of being accepted, or will they laugh me out of the showroom?

Thanks
