Default Aftermarket Shorties vs Stock headers?!?!?

I have seen a few threads with "OPINIONS" but have not seen much proof of any gains/times with aftermarket shorties over the factory headers? I have seen where people say dont waste your time with shorties just go with LT's but I am looking at a cost vs gain and the longtubes in the end will cost $1200-$2000 after parts and labor where as with the shorties I can keep my current setup and only swap the the headers out for roughly $800ish.

So if any one has any FACTS or experience with aftermarket shorties was it worth it to go to them? Any Dyno numbers or time slips with before and after?

In the 4.6 world, on a supercharged car, I picked up 40HP with equal length shorties and a throttle body, can't say which did how much, but basically went from 460 to 500.

That's on an SC car, on an NA car shorties will give you nothing there is not enough scavenging of the exhaust.

The 4.6 Mustangs had a sort of restrictive exhaust manifold setup on them, and so shorties could give a few HP on those, maybe 10Hp tops.
But the '11-up 5.0 has shorties from the factory, so changing them out to aftermarket shorties would give you nothing. So either go LT's or leave it stock IMO
