Default 2013 5.0 with 3.73's rear end question.

I was under my 2013 gt puttin exhaust on and I noticed fluid on the outside of the left side of my axle. Then as I looked closer I noticed a poppet or breather of some kind on the top of the left side of the axle. Does anyone know if this thing is close able or if its supposed to be leaking diff fluid? Any help, advice or info would be appreciated. Thanks

there is a breather whole that is necessary. if it looks to be a machined outlet, DO NOT PLUG IT.

There was a TSB on the 05-09 axle assemblies concerning the breather tube, nothing yet for the 11-13 models, so I imagine they fixed it. Mine leaked when I first got it and I haven't noticed any new signs of dripping. If you want it "fixed" for peace of mind you can buy this bulb thing. Another alternative is to make your own vent tube that is longer so the fluid can't get out due to gravity and the gas can still escape. There are numerous ways to do this, if you're unsure just google rear axle vent images and you'll find something. AxleVent023.jpg?t=1306682865
