rim & tire size
Hey I will be buying a set of rims and tires for my 2014 mustang GT and i will be dropping it. My question to you all is how wide of a tire do I go with for the rear? the staggered rim size for the front will be 20x8.5 and the rear 20x10.5 . The guy at the shop is telling me to go with a 275x35 tire for the rear. can i go with a 285x35 or a 295x35 tire for the rear?

I have 285 30 20 on my 20x10.
I would suggest you to go bigger : 35.
you can definitely go wider at the back. Usually people say 275 is max on 9" even though I saw people putting 285 on 9".
with 10.5" I believe you can go up to 315 with a piece of mind. anything over, I'd recommend checking first

i have 295 30 20 and it works fine on my 20x10.5s. I wouldnt go narrower than that. 295s were a pretty tight fit though but they fit with no spacers.
i may go with 315 30 20 next set of rears, im pretty sure they will rub when the axle is fully dropped but they should be fine when the axle is under weight. Spacers may be necessary for larger than 295's if you dont want them to rub when the axle is hanging low.

I have 255's up front on 19x9's and 285's on 19x10's on the back. The 285's fit and look great. No rubbing or "stick out" on the fender either. I'd say go with the 295's...they should fit fine in a 10.5 wheel.
Also, depending on what tire you go with you may or may not find a 295 available. Asking about the the fitment at a reputable tire shop is very helpful too. Good luck.
