Default Ford Racing Boss 302 oil cooler.

Part # M-6642-MB. Has anyone added this to their regular GT? I thought about installing this to my 2014 GT but didn't know if it would make enough of a difference to warrant spending the money and time. It's about $132 from what I could find. What do you guys think?

Just to shed some light on this product, maybe perhaps your not aware of this design. The oil cooler you type of, actually cools oil by using the engines coolant, thus in doing so raises the temperature of your coolant. Really it's a catch 22 of sorts when you think about it. This cooler only really allows you to be on the track continuously for about 30 minutes maximum possibly. If you were just planning on buying it for the looks; and bragging right, I would say go for it, its your vehicle anyways.

The next step up from that water-oil cooler would be to look at air-oil coolers, basically a system that's mounted on your radiator or such other forms of bracketing.

I did know that this style of oil cooler uses the engine coolant to cool the oil. Since I don't plan on tracking this car, I probably don't need one of these. I just didn't know if it would beneficial to install this. I don't want to raise the engine temps so I guess I don't need one.

track pack gt runs boss oil cooler and boss rad. with boss rad the coolant won't be bothered by the additional thermal loading.

This little guy here works very well, but what you read previously is correct, it does run off the radiator. It's a easy and quick fix that's inexpensive. Match this up with a water wetter and you should see some good improvement:

If you are looking something really hardcore, I'd take your attention and put it towards a larger capacity oil pan, along with an actual oil cooler which you've seen in racing of course. I would recommend these two upgrades in that case if you're looking for the best cooling possible:

Both are factory Ford Racing parts. I'm sure you've likely seen the pricing already by clicking the pictures, so to follow up with that, it is indeed for a serious temperature loss, hence the pricing.

Thanks for the info on those parts. I will check them out. I really like that oil cooler better than the Boss version pictured above.

Just an fyi, but there was mention by a vendor on svt i think that the above cooler is designed to run in parallel with the oil to water cooler.

Which cooler are you talking about, the factory one on top or the Ford Racing one on the bottom?

Um technically both of them. The air to oil cooler (Bottom) adapter was supposed to stack on top of the water to oil cooler, all capped off by the oil filter. I'll try to find the thread and post it tonight, I'm in the middle of installing the boss cooler right now so priorities are the garage over the internet.
