changed out my shifter bushing.
So i finally got around to swapping it out today. I just used teh Energy suspension one to see how much improvement that makes to see if i need the Barton bracket. I will say WTF are they thinking with the stock unit. Its like mashed potatoes. Cheese is stiffer then this thing. Was a quick easy job especially if you can get car on a lift. I havnt got on the car hard but it feels like it changes 1-2 better and 2-3 less notchy feel like its catching edges. Was worth the $16 price tag

quick video showing how mushy the stock unit is
what i replaced mine with
was a cheap replacement to see what kind of difference it makes before deciding if I need the Barton 2 post bracket or not.

the stock bracket has decent amount of strength to it. I wouldnt say its as strong as those solid billet brackets like the barton. but for $16 to make a difference in the shifter so far was worth it to me. if I end up getting the barton shifter I will most likely swap over to the 2 post then but for now this seems to have made things better

I did the same thing. I have had it for 10K miles and its a world of difference over stock. I also switched the shifter to SR Short-throw shifter. I like the combo, and I see no reason to upgrade to 2 post bracket at this time.

yea stocker had zip ties..when i found the thread about this bushing I read people installed it just in bracket no zip ties cause the bracket held it in so i did not use any zip ties and havnt had any issues yet

I also made this change. The shifting was dramatically less sloppy. Energy Suspension product. I will not be bothering with a new shifter know.
The stock bushing is indeed a joke. Especially comical was the Factory use of zip ties to keep the bushing in place. Why does Ford think buyers want a shifter with less feel and sloppy shifting?
I am also planning to install the Whiteline transmission mount bushing. Another cheap and effective solution but folks say added NVH with this product.
