yes, and in 2014 changing the oil at 600 miles on a brand new car is nothing more than a waste of money.
Well not completely I would think. Fords 5w-50 shears to a 40 weight in the first thousand miles (speaking about track pack). And if you want a specific oil and filter that is better quality I wouldn't consider it a complete waste.

Just my thoughts is all
most people don't have the ability to assess whether an oil or filter are "better quality." They just believe what the marketing says.

I have enough experience to know, from my past, oil analysis will show the amount of metal in one's engine oil. Again, you really need to pay attention, because you may learn something from someone with much more experience than you've got.

sad that you need to validate your existence by insulting people on the internet.

True. I did a lot a lot and a lot more of reading about different oil and filters. I finally settled on AMSOil 10w-30 and Ea Filter; with trans and diff fluid from AMSOil. I know I run the track pack and it calls for 5w-50, but since I made the change, better gas mileage (not a huge improvement), and it heats up fast and less oil pressure. I beat the crap out of my car but I don't "track" it so I think a 50 weight is unecessary in my honest opinion.
how fast your engine heats up depends on how cold the engine was when you started it, because that defines the rate of heat transfer from the combustion chamber to the engine/cooling system. If you had to make a list of things that affect how fast your engine warms up, the brand or viscosity of oil would be like #1283.
less oil pressure.
why is this a good thing?
