Default Same issue with my 2014 gt manual

Thunk clunk no matter how smooth I try to be... 1st through 4th gears both up and downshifting... very upsetting and been there since I got the car brand new. Dealerships say it's normal, one even said " that's because you have a true muscle car"....... rubbish. Ford should be ashamed as the drivetrain is fantastic otherwise..
so sick of it I'm trading it in for '17 automatic!... with only 15k on the odometer! goodbye fun manual, but hello smoothness. Still sad though

I would definitely call BS on calling this "normal" I owned a 2005 Pontiac GTO with well over 400 hp factory on a 6.0L V8, also "A True Muscle Car" that did not clunk or hard thud when shifting. Mine also had a 6sm as well but equipped with a Tremec instead on a MT82 Transmission. So what did Ford do wrong? I would love to fully eliminate my clunk in my 2015 GT but this should certainly not roll off the factory like this, or any other manual trans for that matter. Been driving MT since I was 16 yo and never owned an AT, and not about to start!

What causes this clunk noise? I bought a used mt82 from https://reman-transmission.com/trans...des/?code=MT82 a few months back and it has just started to clunk bad. Only has 80k total miles on it..

Reduce clunck use perfect shift timing without backlash keeping positive forward load on the drivetrain. Sooner or later one will get the clunck because of the carrier bearing with the driveshaft design. Higher RPM shifts around 3500 will help coverup slight miss timing shifts. Another complaint is early failure of rear swaybar links making clunck noise. I put an aluminum drive shaft from Shaftmasters and eliminated 90% of the clunck even with poor timed shifts. The stock shaft is heavy and the aluminum shaft has way better Ujoints.
