I keep hearing about resonator deletes - but still a lil clueless on what that is exactly...
Are they just cutting away a part of the stock muffler?

Yeah its basically about an 8 inch section of the over axle pipe that slows the air down as it passes through

If you get under the stang you can see exactly what it is. from what I hear theyre strictly for sound containment.

if you go to google and look up resonator muffler, you'll find tons of examples of what one is. Basically it's an additional muffler that is a small canister that isn't chambered beyond itself and has perforated holes/grating and generally a sound deadening material inside itself.

For example the GT and GT500 exhaust other than the axle back portion is identical except the GT500 doesn't carry resonators in it.
