Default Made Some Cheap Louvers Myself for $10.00

I had nothing to do and currently don't have a job so I have a lot of time in my hands. I did a video trying to explain the process in case someone wants to give it a try. it's not hard at all.

Ummm, why not just grab some off cut 5% tint at a local detail shop? That'd be free and achieve a similar look. This looks jackleg and will most likely rip off on the highway after a little while and exposure to weather.

"I don't have a lot of money right now"....Maybe a gas guzzling 5.0 sporty car isn't right for you at this point. I especially love the painting inside on the "dining room" table. Landlord will probably love that and you were probably high from the fumes when you made this video...hehe.

Yep, cheap defines that quarter window panel blank well. But if that look suits your taste, that's what matters.

The paint job is the only thing separating this covers from looking like it was done professionally. Something I might consider in the future, the panels I did for this video are in the trash bin. Personally I am not a fan of adding clunky louvers, I wanted a smooth look instead and $180.00 to get that look seems too much. I am just sharing something you can do on your own that's it.

I was trying to avoid this look

The small windows in the mustang have some texture inside the glass that just doesn't look good. I don't see how it will rip off on the freeway it has the same tape use by regular but heavier louvers. With enough skills and some patience this covers can be cut perfectly, the paint job is what needs to be done by someone who knows, that's it.

Hint: x-acto blade, straight edge, and french curves....lexan, primer and gloss black paint

suggestion.... should add "Don't try this" disclaimer to post and video.

Seriously? Why not just buy gloss black vinyl or Carbon fiber looking Vinyl...

BTW.... is your car paid off? Just curious about how quick the repo happens on the West Coast? Being unemployed sucks.... especially if you still hold a car note.

Well I think they look pretty good and are a reminder that you can do something cool for not a lot of money. He's a car guy with not a lot of $$$. He wanted to "play" on his car. What's wrong with that?

So often if we're not dropping $1500 on wheels, $1000 on exhaust, $5000 on boost, $1200 on cams, or something else it's somehow not cool.

The point was to make it different. Not like everyone else. He did that and for DIY he did pretty good. Thumbs up from me.
