Question for the 4.10's
I am keeping my Car N/A but I want it to pull harder on other cars around the town, and also put my girlfriend back in her seat harder! I want to upgrade to 4.10s but I have a couple questions. Also I listed current mods that will be done.
30-70 mph would there be a huge walk away compared to my stock gears?
70-130 mph will the car still be accelerating faster?
Traction be a "huge" problem with 275 tires?
2013 mustang 6sp Auto/select shift
3.15 Gears
1.5" FRPP suspension package
Boss 302 tubular control arms & Relocation brackets
275/40/19 Pirelli's on rear
Ford Tune
GT500 axle back
FRPP intake Manifold (not installed yet)
Cobra Jet Throttle body (Not installed yet)
Cobra Jet CAI (Not yet installed)

Waste of money. The autos come with aggressive gearing in the transmission hence the 3.15's. Putting 4.10's in the auto is the equivelant of putting a 6.xx gear in the fox body. No one did that did they? What you want is a converter.

Your car is equipped with the 6R80, which has a very deep 1st gear already, 4.17:1.
Going with a 4.10:1 rear gear makes your 1st gear like ***** on a bull: you can't use at all. Your car will barely remain in 1st and almost instantly shift to 2nd.
If you insist on changing your rear gear, going with 3.55:1 would be much better.
Bear in mind that the 4.10:1 rear gear ratio is really intended for transmissions with a much shallower 1st gear, like the T56's 2.66:1 1st gear.
