Default how much ?

Speed is just a question of money. How fast do you wanna go ? How much money do you have ?

If I could outline stages for you. These are just my opinions/price guesstimations.

Off road x or h pipe =500 =15hp = retune
Long tube headers /w off road pipe= 1000-1500 plus install 40 hp + re-tune
Nitrous Kit w/tuner 1000-1500 = 100-200 hp (is this a good idea with the boss manifold I dont know) + install
Paxton or Vortech supercharger kit = 7k = 150-200hp (my vote)
Turbo kit =7-10k = 200+ hp

Wastes of money =
throttle body, throttle body spacers, air intakes, air tubes, mass air meters, coil packs, anything that says it adds 5-10 horsepower is pretty much a waste of money in my opinion.

Not Power Adders but good =
Gears 3.31 automatic, 3.73 manual = 1200 installed
Lower Control arms, Upper control arm= 700 + install

Best thing to get for your car is good tires. Makes sure your riding on something better then the factory tires. Wheels too, but tires more so.

air intake without a tune = waste is what the above should say.

if you add an air intake, get a tune with it. I definitely noticed a power difference after adding my steeda intake with a tune.

damn, 3.73 gears are that much? I half wish I only had 3.55's instead of my 3.73's

Using the Boss Intake without any other engine mods is a step backwards. You gain a few HP up top but lose low end torque which is what gets you moving from a stop or is what gets you accelerating out of a corner.

Since you already have the intake manifold get some cams to take advantage of the larger intake. Otherwise go back to the stock intake manifold and get Long tube Headers, a race tune and, if you get FI (forced Induction), THEN put the Boss Intake back on.

Default tuner with air intake

a tune is a great mod and worth it, cold air intake is still not worth it. A tune without the intake is maybe 10hp less.

a cold air intake does not give you an additional 25 or 30 horsepower, it does with a tune, which is misleading. The tune gives you 20 additional horsepower regardless of which intake is on there, including a stock intake with a paper filter.

You could put a cold air intake on, a throttlebody, a throttlebody spacer, coil packs and do a tune for all those and maybe gain 33 horsepower over stock.

10 horsepower might make a difference you can feel on a civic, but not on 400+ horsepower v8. Its about as big of a difference as turning on your air conditioning, oh yeah youll feel the difference for about a tenth of a second and then not notice. Youll notice the $ spent on an air intake more then youll notice the performance it adds.

The tune gives you more power, torque fuel economy, changes shift points red line etc. So it has more value then just the additional power, which makes it worth the 400 or so.

An off road x-pipe is a good way to pick up 20hp, but Power Adders are the way to go!

A nice power adder:
