AT Bulkheasd Seal
My 2011 GT automatic transmission bulkhead seal.is leaking. On You Tube it looks like the hardest part of this fix is removing the trans oil pan..However I have been quoted what, in my opinion is a ludicrously high amount. What do you think is a reasonable cost.? (If I had a lift and a heated garage, I'd do it myself)

1. Disconnect the transmission vehicle harness connector by twisting the outer shell and pulling back on the connector.
2. Remove the transmission fluid pan and allow the transmission fluid to drain.
3. Pull the release tab and pull down on the transmission bulkhead electrical connector retainer.
4. With the release tab down, pull the connector sleeve out of the case/mechatronic assembly.
5. Lube new connector sleeve 0-rings with clean transmission fluid, then install connector sleeve into case/mechantronic assembly.
6. Press up on the tab and lock the outer shell of the transmission bulkhead electrical connector sleeve in place. Make sure that the locking tab is securely locked.
7. Install the transmission fluid pan/gasket and refill transmission fluid.
Use the same color o-ring that the connector seal has, there is a blue and black.
^This was for another Ford application, there is a TSB on it.
I would think that you should only have to remove the drain plug from the pan, if there
is one. Not the level tube, the whole thing, to drain the pan. This is just so that
fluid does not pour out of the hole where the connector is, right? IF you were to pull
it out, fluid will come out of that hole, so fluid level needs to be lower than that plug.
I don't know why the pan has to come off, you aren't doing anything under the pan,
unless you want to change the filter while you're at it.
Should take just under 2 hours to complete.
Common issue on F150 too and vehicles going back to the 6r60 trans.
