Crap, I didn't even realize TB and Carb cleaner were actually different. I haven't cleaned mine out yet and will wait until some more people reply.

I read the same thing in my haynes manual which states to use TB cleaner to protect the coating on the throttle body

The CRC brand stuff states it is Throttle Body/Carb Cleaner.

Its 2009....I would hope they have had enough time to adjust their formula.

I would hope so too. But being a TB & Carb cleaner, that implies two things. Either it's a weak carb cleaner, or too strong of a TB cleaner.

Okay, I took a trip to Advanced Auto Parts yesterday and picked this up:

It specifically says on the back that it is safe on throttle bodies with a protective coating. Hopefully I'll have time to clean mine this weekend.

do NOT use carb cleaner. go to advanced and pick up a can of throttle body cleaner that is safe for throttle bodies with a coating on them. I have done this with the engine off, spray it on a rag and wipe out what you can get to without removing the throttle body. You can open the butterfly's by hand to clean right inside of them.

I'll grab some and clean it while I'm cleaning my air filter this weekend. See what kind of difference I notice.

**EDIT: FIXED - CHECK POST ON NEXT PAGE**

Okay guys, I cleaned my TB today. There was some build-up on it (I'll post pics later), and now it seems to rev quicker and easier when I drive.

There is one thing I noticed though. I don't know if this has always happened or not, but obviously after doing something like this, I was paying attention to EVERYTHING to make sure nothing was wrong, and I happened to notice this. Anyway, when I rev the engine, it'll come down to about 850rpms, then jump back to a tad over a 1,000, then go back to ~750. Is this normal? Anyone else have this happen?

Here's the video I took to better show what I'm talking about.

See if it settles back to normal after 20-30 miles of driving. If not, then disconnect the battery cable for 30 minutes, reconnect it, and follow the instructions in the battery replacement section of the owner's manual for the PCM re-learning the engine's idle strategy.
