RE: Official Contest Post Thread -- Military Hero
I mentioned this contest to my mother and she insited on writing something. For the sake of her not having to become a member I agreed to post this for her.
FROM MY MOM...
Bruce has been In Love with Mustangs since he was 4. If it was not a Mustang Hot Wheel, he gave it away!
After joining the Air Force, Bruce came home on leave with a Mustang in tow, he couldn’t wait to give his family a joyous ride. He pulls into a vacant lot and burned donuts until I threatened to write him out of my will.
A phone call home, “Mom guess what? I’m going to Germany!!!” As if that needed to happen… Autobahn, no speed limit...
Orders to Iraq, as if him driving on the Autobahn didn’t worry me enough. No mustang for 6 months. I thought he was devastated, until he kidded with me and said, “Mom what if I need more blood over there, I bleed blue.”
My son’s career has been nothing but gallant and honorable. His sacrifices have made his family proud. And in it all I’ve never once heard him make notion about “what’s in it for me.”
Any time he receives a new medal, he presents it to me in a small wooden shadow box. I couldn’t ask for a better son.
Thank you for this opportunity to give back to him.
Sorry no uniform with the car. Found the contest late, but here are some pics from Iraq, and one of my car.
