Tune status:

Just an FYI... This is taking so long because of other priorities, such as business travel.

Below is the response from the tuner gurus... I'll be doing another data logging session this Friday (9/30/11) and send back the results.

So far the adjustments that I have made are mainly for the throttle angle being commanded by the computer, this being set-up for the stock TB is what was causing your ‘Wrench’ light from popping up because it was getting more air then it was expecting. Getting this dialed in will give good gains and idle quality. Let me know how things work out and we can continue to refine things here for you.

That's great, Kevin!

I'm so glad that you are being so patient/understanding with us working around your travel schedule!

Ryan is one of our Lead Calibrators for a reason, I'm happy to hear that his adjustments are so thorough and precise!

Let us know how the new revision goes when you get back!

Latest status:

Tested another tune today. Under hard acceleration I noticed quite a difference in the sound of the CAI, but at times the car seemed to bog down at certain higher RPMs. I sent the data log file back to AM/BAMA with my observations. More testing will have to wait until next Friday after my business travel. Hopefully when we're done it will run strong and others with the 4.0 can benefit from this exercise. :-)

After the latest run I decided to put it back on and take a longer drive. It seems to be running pretty strong and stable so I'm leaving it on the car. :-) The next thing I'm going to do is adjust my shift points and RPM limits on my tune so I don't have to play with the throttle. I was concerned about revving it too high.

I sent one more log file to see if any additional fine tuning can be done. I also asked what they are seeing with the air/fuel amounts. I guess I'm wondering if I'm realizing any gains from this. I realize it will be minimal if any, but I've learned some things about the tuner along the way which is good.

I'd like to thank AM and BAMA for working with me to get this going. Great customer service!

I originally thought things were fine with the latest tune, but it starting throwing the WRENCH again. With that said, I decided to abandon the effort to get this working. It seems to be unstable/unpredictable and I can't keep leaving my wife with a car that isn't reliable. I put the stock throttle body back on with my standard BAMA 93 race tune as she runs perfect. BAMA was willing to continue to work on this, but it was my decision to pull the plug. I'm out of town a lot and it's not worth the effort for the minimal gains I might get from this. Again, thanks to AM and BAMA for their efforts.

No problemo, Kevin!

Sorry things didn't work-out with the ported TB. Definitely a bummer!

Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance in the future!
