If you were set on Gloss Black in April, I would just buy them in charcoal without tires and have them painted Gloss Black. Shouldn't cost more than $200 or so to have a body shop strip and paint them.
yeah i'm pretty much set for April. I have a set of bullitts right now but committed to selling them to a friend of mine, so i'm outta luck as i have winter tires with steelies on right now (i live in canada).

No chance that they can release the gloss blacks as special editions? =)

Chris - Love your work! Interesting to see that the machined 18x9s are 0.75lbs lighter per wheel.

Unfortunately, we don't place special orders like that. I apologize for any inconvenience. Keep painting them in mind, we had a customer do that his charcoals on his racered (sorry for the link to another forum, but that's where he posted it): http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ml#post2932536

He hasn't gotten back to me about how much he was charged, but a local friend here in PA charges $200 to change the color of wheels, depending upon size. Slightly more if you wanted powder-coat instead of paint. And that $200 is for 100% perfectly color-changed wheels, no runs, etc.

Yup, less material coating reduces their weight. If you wanted the lightest wheels, the bare machined are normally going to be the best choice.

Thanks Chris! I think i'll be happy with the charcoal for now...run it for a season and see what happens...worst case i can get them painted at a later time..

Once again..thanks for the quick response!

That's a tough call. Our earliest prototype AMR wheels were more "flat" like the TSW wheel, but after we got further along in the design, we ended up going with a more "concave" design, more similar to the RTR or the HRE's.

Tough decision! It really is all about what you're after. I'll be adding charcoal AMR's to my Grabber 07 GT!

hey chris...i see on the website that the RTR's are sold out...any ideas when you guys will be restocking them? depending on my year end bonus in april, i might be inclined to pick up the RTR's....

and btw...are the RTR's really 19x9.5 all around with 275 tires? i thought that didn't fit the S197 fronts?

I'm pretty much down for 3 sets, a special price would just make it so much nicer!
