5.0 and Boost/power limits?

5.0 and Boost/power limits?
Is there a specific psi level that the 5.0 should not go past?
say 8 psi from a P1SC Procharger?
I took a look at their kits and it's by far the most easiest to install out of the ones I have installed in the past (Vortec V3 H.O. kit; lots of stock hoses to cut, bolts to trim etc.) and a Magnacharger 2300 on my 09 Charger RT (Even more hoses to cut, route etc. Also NOT a fan of air/water cooling, too much damn plumbing going on!)
I seen some videos on Youtube and looks like 500RWhp should be expected out of an auto running 90 octane, and say 550-570RWHP with long tubes, high flow cats and a BOSS 302 intake manifold??
Is boost safe on these 11.0:1 compression motors?

There really isn't a particular psi that you shouldn't go past with your 4v 5.0. There's move of a power level that shouldn't be reached, instead. Typically you want to stay in the 550-575rwhp range with a manual on 93octane pump gas. For an auto, I would keep the numbers closer to 525rwhp.
Tons of Mustang Enthusiasts have supercharged their 11+ Mustang with success. There's lots of different combinations to do so, too. With so many combo's, it's hard to say there's a cut and dry guideline to follow for every Mustang. Different Enthusiasts have different goals too. The "max" power numbers I listed above are usually very safe for a daily driver and will allow the engine to last a long time. That's not to say you won't see a 625rwhp 5.0 online that's running strong, but who's to say it will last for another 50k miles?
Procharger makes a great kit, like you mentioned. I don't think you can go wrong with a Procharger, Vortech, Paxton, TVS, or Whipple. So, if Procharger makes the kit you like, then I say go for it! Make sure you tuner keeps the power levels around the low 500's for your auto 5.0 and you should be fine.
Hope this helps!

Are the auto trans power rated limit at low 500whp??
low 500's is fine by me
Great power and longevity is my number one goal.. what's the point of a 1000whp car if it only lasts a few months lol
Looking at a Procharger kit possibly next year if I get new 5.0, I installed both types of kit and by far the centri kits are way more simpler to install and a lot less over all parts..

The 6R80 automatic transmissions are very strong and by no means the weakest link. The reason I mentioned sticking with a lower peak power than the manual transmission is because all automatic transmissions have torque converter slip. Even a fully locked torque converter has almost 10% slip. So, even though the engine is experiencing the same stress levels as a manual, the wheel power numbers will be less.
Hope this helps!

I understand
Has there been any reported loss or damages due to power levels with the new auto trans? If anyone were to be the first to break something, it would be me.. Yeah, I'm that guy lol
jk
I tend to do a lot of drag racing in the summer.. we only have four months of racing season and I tend to squeeze in as much seat time as possible. My last car ate up driveshaft couplers and bolts like crazy as well as spittin' out push rods. It was not as a high performance vehicle like the 5.0 though, but I tried to make it into one
(Magnacharged 2009 5.7 Hemi, Dodge Charger RT AWD)
Nearly 5000lb. sedan running very low 12's will tend to break a lot of stuff lol

Actually the 6R80 is one of my most favorite transmissions to date. I've seen more than a few built 5.0's with big blowers putting down 700-800rwhp through this stock trans with an aftermarket torque converter. I wouldn't sweat putting 5xxrwhp through one.
Sounds like you had a pretty mean RT! Low 12's is very impressive for 5k lbs. I can definitely see why you broke a few things, too...

Noice.. I can't wait to start modding
I was a fan of the 5R55S and looking forward to the new 5.0
My RT was a beast but it took way too much to run what a 5.0 does with just a custom tune! I been out of the loop for way too long lol
