Question tuner question

Ok a couple months ago I purchased a tuner and CAI from steeda for my 2012 5.0. The tuner came with their 93 octane tune on it. I dyno'd the car shortly after installing the products and the car made 368 hp. Not sure what happened but those number are the same as many 2012 & 2013 stock numbers. Wondering what kind of numbers you guys are making with your tunes? I am probably going to buy into your tunes package here shortly. Also how hard is it to get rid of the tune from steeda on the tuner so I will have room for the three from yall??

Thanks!!

Switching tunes on your SCT tuner is very simple. We'll email you 3 Bama tunes right off the bat and you can easily upload them onto the hand held through SCT's computer program 'Live Link'. Within this free program, you can select which tunes you would like to keep on the tuner or switch out.

I do agree your dyno numbers look a little low, but I doubt they're strictly from the Steeda tune. Bama, Steeda, JPC, VMP, etc. are all top leaders in custom tuning business and have very consistent and reliable tunes. Keep in mind there's a few other factors that come into play when running your Mustang on the dyno.

- Dyno brand and type
- Which gear the car was dyno'd in
- Air density/weather
- Differential gearing
- Tire height/weight/sidewall stiffness

Everything in the list above will affect the final dyno numbers you receive. It's certainly not unreasonable for all 5 of these aspects to be working against you in a sense, too. I just wanted to give you a heads up before you make any decisions.

With that being said, I think you'll be very pleased with our Bama custom tunes! With a CAI and Bama tune on an 11+ manual GT, we've seen dyno numbers anywhere from 385-410rwhp on a Dynojet 224xLC. The range in the number are mostly from weather changes. Some cars were dyno'd during the summer, while others were during cool winter months.

Give me a shout if you have more questions or concerns!

No car is the same, they will all have different dyno numbers. Just because yours made what others did stock doesn't mean something went wrong.

I put down 412 rwhp with the 91 octane tune and steeda CAI.
