2 q's
okay... im going to put the RCA to line converter on top of the sub box and then where should i wire it to? anyone got pics?
second.. from the amp-battery where can i feed the 4 gauge power wire and the remote turn on wire ? i know once i get it to the front i can wire the remote turn on to the yellow wire in the ignition (someone said thats what they think it is).. but how do i wire it from the back to the front? -remove rear seats..go underneath that, then try to go underneath the carpet? |
RE: 2 q's
You'll need to tap into your speaker wires. Go to the Information/FAQ/Initiation thread and you'll see where you can run your power wire through your firewall. Your remote wire you will want connect to the blue wire with the white/gray-ish stripe in it, not to the yellow ignition wire. All of your wires you will take of the trim pieces at your door line and pull the carpet back a little ways and basically just uck it in as best you can, remember to check where any screws may end up because thats where you will especially want to pay attention to where the wires are ran. RCA's you will want to run down the separate side from your power wire, you can run it right next to the remote wire or speaker wires, they won't interfer but the power wire is much more well known to do so.
Any other questions stop back in. |
RE: 2 q's
okay, so i need to pop out all the side panels, its gonna go from under my rear seats, to... what?
|
RE: 2 q's
What do they call it the door sil or whatever. I would simply remove the rear seat, you fold them down and remove the bolts. The bottom part of your seat you will need to take a couple of screwdrivers and put them on each side of the two "plugs" and pry them up so they pop out, then running your wires will basically be a snap.

RE: 2 q's
to the amp......
LOC's can pick up alot of noise depending on where you get your signal and where you mount them. I always tap the signal for them as close to the source(the deck) as I can. The further away you get your signal from the source the better chance you have to get noise in the system and amplify it..... |

seight311... okay so i remove my rear seats, run the wire under that and then to where? do i have to remove any paneling?
second, the RCA to line.. what do i splice into? are there any write ups with pics ? im a complete newb with this stuff |
RE: 2 q's
once you are past the back seat, you will be in the trunk. from there you can run it under the carpet in the trunk to the amp.
The LOC splices into the speaker wires. Are ya sure ya wanna start cutting into this car? At the very minimum have someone around you that has done a couple of stereos and hopefully knows what he is kinda doing.... |
RE: 2 q's
yea i do, but how do i find the polarity of the speaker wires and im talking about from the rear seats to the front battery.

ORIGINAL: eddiev22 yea i do, but how do i find the polarity of the speaker wires and im talking about from the rear seats to the front battery. After you get it through the firewall (in that thread, theres pictures, detailed ones), run it under the carpet where your pedals are, and you'll keep going past the side of you seat under those little long panels, maybe they call the scuff panels now that I think about it, anyway under/past your rear seat into your trunk. Then you will do you connection to your battery, with your fuse as close as possible to the battery, most people suggest less than 12". |
