can't pick a sub...
hey guys, I need some advice on subs.
I'm looking at 2 10" subs but can't decide what to get. I want something with really deep bass because i listen to mostly rap. I was set on 2 ED 110v.2's. but I just don't know. Are those the best subs for what i want to do? or would something like this work better.... http://www.caraudiodeals.com/audioba...fer-p-181.html thanks for the help as always! |
RE: can't pick a sub...
You want the chrome flame Audiobahns.
Because I know that all the true niggas in your clique ride chrome. |
RE: can't pick a sub...
I was just curious because it says it has a 900w rms, but i didn't know if that was overrated or somthing. thanks for the helppp[&:]

RE: can't pick a sub...
8/10 companies rate their RMS and peak at 17V. so for practical DD use, yeah its overrated

RE: can't pick a sub...
To be honest, 900 watts RMS isn't so great when it sounds like ass. Just a thought. Also consider that 10's won't get you far in the low frequencies.
And as a side note, remember the rest of your system. Head unit, amp(s), cap, speakers, etc. Nice subs don't make a stock mustang sound much better. My 04 GT had a pair of 12" Alpine type-R's with an Alpine head unit and a rockford fosgate t10001 in it. It bumped, but the speakers didn't cut it whatsoever, and my alternator wasn't doing any better. And lacking the trunk space didn't seem like it would be so bad. Wow was I wrong. But that's just me ;) No offense, nor am I suggesting anything, but most people don't consider the rest of their system when upgrading their subs. Just something to consider. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer what I can. |

Diamond Audio D9 Subs, they are amazing but i dont know if your looking at spending that type of money on subs...

RE: can't pick a sub...
If you can afford the amp to power them, two mtx 9510's will probably put out more bass than you can stand, and the lows will blow away most 12's of the same specs.

Jesus, where did the last 3 posters come from?
1. Rockford of any sort is terrible. 10"s can perform in the low hrtz just as well as 12s, given you buy something good. 2. Diamond D9s? this is 2007. Sure, a few years back those were great. Different(CHEAPER) materials than before. $330 can get you far better. 3.That MTX is alright, not worth the $300.IT is 750rms, but at 17.7V with 0/1 wire. Not practical. I RARELY reccommend todays Eclipse, but ive had the pleasure of hearing this model in 12" today. Eclipse SW8000 at woofersetc.com http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4469 |

In my experience a single 17V DC signal will merely make the cone movee outwards, it has nothing to do with power ratings. I really like diamond audio equipment, and altough it might be rather expensive the D9's are great woofers. |
