RE: speaker won't work
You might have blown the voice coil. I think the hx2 is around 75. I would buy a new one unless you have a warranty

RE: speaker won't work
Yeah that happend to me with one of my old subs, one of the coils burnt out and I just bought a better sub!

RE: speaker won't work
How hard are you pushing the subs. Wattage etc... your amp may be too much. Maybe upgrade the subs?

RE: speaker won't work
also make sure your box is big enough for the subs you are putting in. If it calls for say 1.5 cu. in. and you have it in a .5 box then the air the sub creates in the box has no where to go and does not dissipate properly and the pressure can ruin the VC. Maybe one 12 DVC sub and a slightly bigger box?

RE: speaker won't work
likely cheaper to replace than to fix.

ORIGINAL: mrnolan27 How hard are you pushing the subs. Wattage etc... your amp may be too much. Maybe upgrade the subs? The thing that blows speakers really really really fast is distortion. It destroys speakers ALOT faster than too much power. HX2 are known to blow quickly. They are fragile. Don't repair it...not worth it. Unless you have subs that cost as much at the JL w7s I would never repair. Buy new subs and ALWAYS get service. Subs blow all the time....I see them blown everyday. Many thinks cause subs to go bad. but distortion will kill it the fastest. |
