Default messed up speaker? upgrading mach 460 to mach 1000

hey i have a 96 gt conv and i want to upgrade/fix my sound system.
my passenger side speaker sounds like complete **** when the bass is up and i dont know why,i changed it out with another speaker but it does the same thing. this really dispoints me cause when i had my 95 the sound system sounded amazing but i cant get that sound cause of the one speaker.

im thinking about upgrading my system to the mach 1000.
how do these sound,is it worth the upgrade from the mach 460?
how hard is it to do?

give a complete list of everything in the car. What did you replace the speaker with? Was it the tweeter or the woofer. The tweeters are an odd size, the woofers are an odd impedence. I could understand if you replaced the woofer it will sound bad unless you had a factory replacement.

if you replaced it with the correct 8 ohm woofer then we can either look at the amp, or the head unit. Is everything in the system still stock?

its a stock speaker from a 98 v6 stang, looks exactly the same.unless the speakers are different? but idk why it would do that with both speakers. it could be something with the amp maybe loose wire or something? replaced the cd player as well not the radio though.

repair what you have or get a whole new set up.

A referbished Mach 1000 head unit out here 2 years ago was $400, plus you will have to rewire.

You probably won't even be able to find the 8x10 for the trunk or the rack of amps that go in the trunk.

And from Ford I am sure it will cost at least 1K.

you can do much better for less

i found the setip for the trunk, you can hook that up to your mach460 somehow from what i hear.
i probably wont even get it cause id rather spend my money on mods and a good working mach460 sound good enough.

if it is both speakers then I would guess that it has to do with the amp. The drivers side amp is the one that powers the front speakers, the passenger side the rear. You can probably find a replacement amp for not too much much of fleabay.

I believe on the verts that it is located behind the back seat, under the top.
