Exclamation aftermarket stereo no sound

Bought an after market radio, used conversion wiring harness so I didn't have to cut into the original harness and everything powers up but there is no sound. I hooked the radio up to an extra speaker I had laying around outside of the car and it works fine. Any ideas?

I forgot to mention it's a 95 Mustang GT convertible.

that is strange then. If you have a speaker in the car that is shorted or grounded out then the deck will turn the amp off to keep it from blowing. If you have an ohm/multi-meter then this is a good time to pull it out and check the speaker impedence(ohms) from the dash harness and see if you can find one that is less then 3-4 ohms. If you do not have a meter(or know someone that does) then try hooking up power to the deck, and then either connecting or disconnecting the speakers one at a time. When you reach the bad set of wires if you disconnect that speaker from the system then the rest will turn on.
