Some mount them up by the roof on the windshield, and hardwire them into the dome lights, but I put mine on the bottom of the windshield and have a thin cord running into my car charger slot. Much easier to remove if you are parked in a shady area or are leaving the car for maintenance.

With buying used, make sure it comes with all the necessary equipment (charger, cigarette lighter adapter, etc.)

Also, for 100 bucks more you can get a brand new one, that is the new model has the newest software and all the accessories. Just a suggestion

I see it for $450 new. It can be had for $400?

Update, I see them for $400 on valentines website, why do they cost so much more elsewhere?

I really have no idea, on amazon they are 450, and ebay ones are kinda overpriced as well.... I don't know why, but I suggest order from valentines site. I guess since shipping is really cheap on amazon they mark up the radar unit, but that is hardly justification lol.

Alright so I've had it for a week already and it saved me on the NJ GSP twice already. Both times they would have been pretty heavy tickets lol. The one bad thing about the V1 is that it is VERY sensitive when your driving around town it goes off at nearly every store.

@ Redstang: Just keep an eye on the bogey counter and you'll know when to hit the brake and when its just a false alarm haha. That's what I do, and it generally knows whats a fake and whats a real threat.

@soldier: yeah dude, they still make em but its not as popular as back when they first came out- and back then they were practically gimmicks unfortunately. They've gotten way better, but just not the "hot" item to have anymore lol.

Cb radios and line of sight to the cop, then reporting it over the Cb is starting to come into fashion again where I live

Valentine Radar - If God made a better Radar detector, he kept it for himself!

I've had a bunch of them over the years and I'll never go back from my Valentine. It picks up pretty much, just radar! VERY few false signals. And yes, you'll like the HUD and Bogey counter. If you like having a radar, don't even hesitate. Just buy it and be done....
