Shaker 500 radio, 2005

I am adding an external amplifier (big power) to my Mustang. In a perfect world I would like to have the amp power up when the radio is turned on and off accordingly. This is similar to the power antenna feature found on other radios. Does anyone know what wire or pin from the rear of the radio controls the on/off feature? Mike

I know I am starting to sound like a broken record, but the PAC SOEM-T solved that problem in my wife's vehicle. It turns your amplifier on when it senses signal from the factory speaker wires that you connected it to.

The other way to do it would be to grab the remote wire that goes to your amplifiers in the driver's side kick panel and use a relay to step it up to 12 volts.

It would be Pin 9 in the photo above. The reason you need to use a relay is because the factory remote turn on is +5v and most aftermarket amplifiers need +12v to power up.

The SOEM-T is out best LOC yet next to our SOEM-4 4 ch. LOC.
