Installing Shaker 500/1000 door speakers
i already have the door panels with the speaker holes, grills, and stock speakers on their way from a friend. my question is how am i supposed to hook them up to my car if i originally didnt have a Shaker 500/1000, but i upgraded the HU to a pioneer avh-p4200dvd.
im new at running wires and amps for speakers and stuff, so what size wire would i run? where can i get it? radio-shack maybe? amp required? how do i connect it to my HU? how to feed wires through door gromet?
lots of questions, i know, but wiring isnt my greatest talent lol, i want to do this right the first time.
anything is helpful, pics would be awesome!!!

I would ditch the OEM speakers. Ebay has some good deals. If you do not, do you have the OEM speaker connectors? The Shaker door subs also have amps for each speaker. They are mounted at the drivers side kick panel. Can't help you with installing these, but wanted to point out the need for the amps.
The gauge of wire will depend on the watts and length of the run. On my 100 watt speakers at 6 feet, the recommended gauge is 16. For my sub, with 300 watts and 6 feet the recommended gauge is 12. Do a search on speaker wire gauge and there are charts out there.
You will have to decide whether you want to run the signal through an amp or just through the head unit. to determine what connections/parts needed.
