Default Rear Seat Back amp mount for 2006 GT

I was wondering if anyone has chosen to mount their amplifier to the rear seat back in a 2006 Mustang GT? If so, what did you do to reinforce the mount? I ask because the last time I pulled the rear seats out, I noticed that the rear seat back is made up of unevenly shaped plastic. I'm just knocking some ideas around as to what I could do to see to it that my JL Audio HD 900/5 doesn't fall off.

Option 1 would be to remove the rear seat back and attach the amp by bolting all the way through it. Seems like it would be a royal pain.

Option 2 would be to glue and/or screw a thin piece of plywood to the plastic rear seat back then mount the amp to it. Seems like it would be a little easier.

Option 3 would be to just screw into the plastic rear seat back and take my chances. I heard horror stories of amplifiers falling down and think this would be an ill advised move.

Option 4 will be to just mount the amp to the rear package tray.

Anything else I might have missed?

I guess if it is nice and secure, that is good enough. I know I tried to mount at least one amp there in 2008 and I thought it was a bad idea because I was only able to get 3 of 4 screws to hold it in place.

I'll experiment more when I have the 900/5 in front of me because I am still waiting for it to come in.

EDIT: The more I think about it, the more I am liking the idea of a package tray mount. The amp will be up and out of the way therefore I don't have to worry about objects smacking into it or scraping it when I use the pass thru.

I'd like to put mine on a mounted plate. Actually I'd like to use my spare tire area, but fix-a-flat and an air-compressor worry me as the alternative.

Anyhow, I've had mine on the back of the passenger seat for 3 years now with no issues(08), just screwed in. Still don't like it aesthetically, but for practicality, it works.

That was the other thing I was thinking about, flipping the spare and putting the amp in the spare. Unfortunately, it won't be here until tomorrow so I am just brainstorming in the mean time.

I was thinking about doing something like this build log: http://www.mobilesoundscience.com/f1...html#post11003, but not quite as fancy.

I'm thinking something like this too:

The only thing that bothers me with the amp on the seatback or the amp in the spare tire is something hitting it or something spilling in it. No matter how you slice it or dice it, I'm tired of doing this:

Aye, I hear ya. I'd like to do a complete slide-back tray shelf myself, much like the first picture. I'm using both back seat backs to house things.

Don't think I'll be trying to fabricate a sub-woofer into my center console though.

Back of the seat worked for me. Just screwed my amp into the plastic and it's very stable.

I gave up on rear speakers because I always had issue with them pulling my image to the back. Then again, I don't know if I could successfully implement rear speakers anyway since I am running 2 way plus sub fully active with time alignment.

EDIT: It's also, hard to believe that one little amp replaces all those!

EDIT2: This was during the build:

This is what it looks like for now:
