Default 2005 stock radio swap to stock mp3 or shaker 500/1000

hey guys i use to come in here as 96Drop_Top

this site helped me with alot of info on my 96 and my 05 stang's
i was wondering if i can do a 05 stock radio to 08 stock radio with mp3 playback
or a shaker 500/1000 radio i just have the four speaker setup the only thing i want is to be able to play mp3 burned cd's......thanks guys

Yes and no. The antenna connector mid 07 or 8 changed. So you will likely need an adapter for the standard motorola connector your's has.

I would ask why you'd bother though unless supremely **** about looking stock, since you can get an after-market one to do that and much more for likely little extra money. And that won't crap out on you 6 months later. The stock units tend to get motor issues, and your cds become a meal.

thanks for such a quick reply wayne and to answer your question yes i do like the stock look i can pick up a single disk mp3 radio from a 08 for about $50 on ebay, so even if i get close to a year of use i'll be happy thanks for all the info

Make sure the plugs are the same main power plug is the same but there are 2 more plugs for the factory amplifier auxiliary audio input and some have the low subwoofer output on the small plug

All of the S197s have this (8pin connector)for the "shaker" output to factory subs. The 16pin aux he just wouldn't use.
