Passport 8500 user here. One thing I really like is it's ability to detect multiple signals and signal strength. If I was a cop I would sit in a spot where most detectors false. People learn where these spots are and get complacent thinking that it is just a false alarm. Many times I have been driving through one of these areas where my old cheap detector would always alert but now I can pick out 2 or 3 distinct signals. Usually always a cop, especially when you detect K and KA band at the same time. Yeah he's hiding up ahead.

installed the 9500ci this winter. Another nice function of the gps is that it will start to void out false signals that it reads in the same place 3 times in a row. Another nice function the 9500 has is the laser diffuser. I have to agree that the arrows are neat and all cut again if it goes off and gets a strong signal I don't care where it comes from.

Passport 8500 here. It's saved my butt several times...except last week. That's what I get for being the only car on the stretch of road and speeding in front of a cop running laser. I was lucky enough to somehow talk my way out of the ticket and the cop was pretty cool about it. Ended up with a ticket for turning without a signal. I'll take that compared to a 19 over. He was a motorcycle officer hidden very well on a hill right near my house. Like shootin fish in a barrel.

No radar detector is going to help you when you're the only one on the black top and it's instant on like that.
