Default Need help on speakers and placement

I have a 1969 Sportroof mustang.

I had originally bought some 5 1/2" component speakers with crossovers (2 pairs) for my car. I am doing dynamat from the firewall back. Speaking of firewall the car is having the cowl replaced for rust issues and it will need to be replaced due to an exploding clutch from a previous owner. I am going with a Classic Auto Air system and will not need the fresh air vents. Since these also have some rust and are not made as an aftermarket part my body guy is going to custom fabricate the metal and we'll use them as speaker pods. These are roughly 8" in diameter. I am looking for some good component speakers that will give me some decent sound. Since these are in the foot wells I would like to go with a good quality speaker. I also have a Kicker 5 channel amp and a 8" Kicker L7 Sub.

My question to all of you is two fold:

1. What is a good set of component speakers.

I am thinking about going with the QS series of speakers I can get a deal on them through a friend, but I wanted to see what you all thought. These are available in a 6 3/4 and a 6 1/2 size. Here is the link.

I just don't know much about kickers quality in the mids and tweeter speakers. I prefer JL audio but got the amp and sub at a great deal.

2. The rear quarter panel inserts I can get in the original ABS Plastic or in a fiberglass setup. Would this be a good place to put additional speakers? I want more sound than just front speakers.

Anyone know anything about Focal speakers? Seem like good speakers I have heard a few in another car and they sounded good to me. These come in a 6 3/4 and 5 1/4 component sets.

What do you guys think of these? Any other brands that you like better? I am looking for component speakers.

they're the current "hot" brand du jour. People speak highly of them but I've no experience with them.

I have heard a set of the gold coned ones at the $549 level and they sound incredible. I am wanting to build my 69 in a pro-touring setup but one I can do the Long Haul and other week long car trips with some nice "creature comforts". Most fun I had was doing the Long Haul for the Hot Rod Power Tour in my brother's Shelby with him in 2011.

I have had a set of Focals for a few years now, pretty nice set, it is a 6.5 woofer with a tweeter. I think they were $250ish retail, I got the for close to half price. They are probably a step, or two, below the ones you are looking at but I have had them in 3 different cars (2 sets of speakers actually), and I haven't had any issues, plus I think the sound quality is great!

personal experience with kickers is not a good one at all...i like my music to be loud and crisp and the best speakers i've found that have that are Morel speakers. the quality on these is ridiculous. never heard anything better for the price
