Default Can I add this amp and speakers to the Shaker 500?

Hello Everyone! New to the forum.

I recently bought a 2010 Mustang GT and am loving it!

I have a JL audio '450/4' amp and Boston Acoustic competition speakers (SL 60 and SL 95's) that I would like to add to my system. Is it possible, or advised?

I would like to replace the door speakers with my 6 1/2's and the rear speakers with my 6x9's and run them off of the JL audio amp.

I was told by Crutchfield that I HAD to buy the $300+ dollar dashboard piece to add an after-market stereo to my car, but was wondering if I could just replace the speakers and add my amp to the Shaker500 system already in there.

The stereo-dash I have now does not have the built in navigation piece.

I also have a MTX 6001 sub-amp and two 12" Boston Acoustic subs that I WISH I could add as well.

Is there a reason why I would not do this? Or cannot add these pieces to what is already there?

Thank you for any help!

if the amp has speaker level inputs, you can use those with the OE head unit. if it doesn't, you'll need line-out converters.

I would like to replace the door speakers with my 6 1/2's and the rear speakers with my 6x9's and run them off of the JL audio amp.
the factory speakers are 5.5"x7.5" (aftermarket calls them 6x8s.) there might be adapters to put a 6.5" in the front door locations. But fitting 6x9s in the rear package tray isn't going to be easy.

The stereo-dash I have now does not have the built in navigation piece.
doesn't make it easier, sadly. even without nav the 2010+ Mustang has an integrated center stack; instead of a "brick" radio like the '05-'09, the center stack has a radio w/ no display, a FCIM (front controls interface module) with all of the buttons and controls, and a FDIM (front display interface module) which gives you the radio display and temperature information. to use an aftermarket head unit you need to toss the factory radio and FDIM, and use a dash kit which either retains the FCIM (for the climate control functions) or includes one of its own. Both, as Crutchfield says, are expensive.

I also have a MTX 6001 sub-amp and two 12" Boston Acoustic subs that I WISH I could add as well.
what you could do is (if that amp has speaker level inputs) tap the four speaker wires going to one of the door woofers and send that to the MTX amp with your 12s in the trunk. The 12s won't be aligned in time with the door woofers but you'd be throwing enough power at them where it might not matter.
