Default 15 GT Standard Radio to Double DIN

So I recently purchased a 2015 Mustang GT, non Premium, with the intent of upgrading it myself. This is what the radio looks currently in the GT.https://i.imgur.com/IcBJVNJ.jpg
And Here's what the Premium radio looks like https://i.imgur.com/QHyXsWr.jpg

In my mind, the panel should physically fit without problems. They look like they're the same exact size, and that should create the Double DIN space needed for an aftermarket radio. My concern is compatability of things like climate control. With my current dash it's all controlled by physical switches, but with the Premium, some of it's controlled by the radio, and the panel assumes such.

I guess my question is two parts really. One, if you were to replace the radio in a GT Premium with an aftermarket radio, how do you control the climate control, and two, would that same solution work for me switching to the panel?

no, you can't swap panels. your car doesn't have automatic climate controls, while the GT Premium does, so your heat/A/C wouldn't work.

You're probably best off waiting for the aftermarket to come out with an integration kit for a 2DIN radio. shouldn't take them too long.

I figured that might be the case, I just hope the aftermarket panels look good. The guy at the shop here showed me some for older Mustangs and I was less than enthused.
