Factory Amp Turn On/Off Button

I bought four of these buttons, so decided to use one to turn the factory AMP on or off.

Soldered JST connectors on for power and light.

Drilled out the blank button:

Wiring everything up:

I did not want the button light to be bright, so rather than use the +12 from the radio's amp lead, I am using the +5
out result from the resister, so the light is dim, and not in your face at night.

Drilled and tapped in a ground screw for the button's LED:

One side effect from wiring the LED to the +5 after the resister is; when there are hard bass hits,
at full volume, the light pulses after the hit. If I back the volume off -2, it doesn't do it. I know
why it does it, just didn't expect it.

The side effect of hooking the LED power after the resister, was that it pules with
bass when the radio is at full volume.

I do know why it pulses. If you want to prevent it, install a diode after the resister,
then the wire the LED behind the diode. Then the factory amp lead to the diode.
The diode will block the surges.
