Kicker CVR's

Ok, tell me what you guys think. Keep in mind I am on a budget. Not a super tight one but still decently tight.

2 Kicker CVR 12" Dual-2 Ohm subs wired seperatly to a 2 channel amp, or bridged...I can get them about 90 new or alittle less...

Also, what kind of amp. Those subs are 800 watts max each so I need something a bare minimum of 800 watts. Whats a good 1000 watt or more amp...

I plan to have these in a custom box...

I am not extremly familiar with Kicker so i'll leave this to someone who is but, I would honestly say you'll be fine with a true 500-600 watt rms amplifier. Im not sure if you want to keep it all Kicker either but maybe something like the Alpine M605.

Subs-2 10" Jensen 175rms in separate ported bandpasses

Kicker makes good subs, I have the L5's and I love em... The cvr's are good too they hit alot harder than other brands in the same price range... and at 2 ohms they should slap pretty good especially in a mustang cuz of the smaller trunk... Depending on how many watts they are you should get a good amp to power them up... Id get a 400+ watt rms 2 channel or mono amp and they should power them up good...

They are 400 rms and 800 max...so as I said before, A good 1000 watter would probably be good.

kicker are alright subs nothing to good though they have alot of problems with their subs. also most of them sound like ass cannons. look into an american bass DX12 in a ported box it will be louder and sound better than the cvrs and are right at the same price. make sure its a custom box built to the right specs. the comps take a huge ass box to make them acceptable.

the description said they were free-air, and I have a Mustang so not alot of room...

The comps dont need a big box, they require a sealed box, and Kicker doesnt have problems with their subs I dont know where you got that information, they make some of the best subs out there...

RE: Kicker CVR's

lets see i get my information from a box building program and i have modeled many boxes and those subs are acutally designed to be in a ported and sealed box but more towards a ported box. i have had about 200 L7s come to my shop to see why they arnt working and they all have bad tinsel leads. hmm no problem there. the solox has a problem with the plastic around the VC and it will break and wedge the VC over and blow the sub wich isnt under warranty because its an spl only sub with no warranty. and if you think kicker makes some of the best subs out there i feel sorry for you because you havent experienced anything good yet.
