Independent Rear Suspension

Independent Rear Suspension
Good day my fellow Stang lovers. I need some help.. How can I tell if my 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 V8 has a independent rear suspension. Thinking about installing a catback system with OEM pipes and welded Flowmasters 40 series from a 03 Cobra.

The only mustangs before 2015 that came with independent rear suspension are the Cobra's from 1999 to 2004.
Some people got creative and would swap the IRS from a Cobra to a regular mustang and the solid rear axle from the mustang to the cobra for better drag racing traction.
Easiest way to tell is look under the car from the rear bumper. In the image below, the giant heap of metal on the left is the IRS, the simple differential with axle tubes is a solid rear axle.
It's hard to tell in the picture but the IRS axles will look like the cv shafts you find on front wheel drive cars with rubber bellows on each end. SRA is just a solid piece of metal pipe on each end.
