You'de get a quicker response posting in the suspension section for the year you have since hardly anyone checks this section. But to answer your question... no, you don't have to. But, if you're dropping over 1" it's recommended, and if your shocks/struts are still the stock ones that came with the car, they are very likely worn out since they are at least 13 years old. Also it is easy to replace them when replacing the springs, since the labor is already being done anyway.
