• Again, for those spending the night and having an early Sunday Dragon run we are staying at –
Microtel Inn
Robbinsville, NC
828-479-6772
Rate - $67 (1 Queen), $77 (2 Queens) Ask for motorcycle or AAA rate.

I thought I would start a new thread on this event to get a little better visibility. This seemed to work well last year. I have also posted this on another forum as well. I will add their names to this list as well.

For those wanting to stay the night we are going to stay at The Microtel Inn in Robbinsville, NC. The local number is 828-479-6772, ask for the motorcycle rate. It is $77 for two queens and $67 for one queen, + taxes.

I will work on a proposed agenda but my initial thoughts are leave Hickory around 9:30 - 10:00. Use Asheville as a secondary meeting spot, have lunch somewhere with an easy on/off and hopefully a gas station. I should be up that way in a few weeks. We can then take the same basic route (minus the picnic lunch) over to the Dragon.

I will try to keep a running tally of those joining us.

1- Steve
2- Larry
3- Jeff
4- Kevin
5- Clint
6- Sean
7- Brad
8- Alan
9- Eric

Alan... I'm with you on (minus the picnic lunch). Let me know if I can help you with anything. Thanks for the time you're putting in on this "again".

Alan, if you need some help count me in, just tell me what to do.

We are off to a good start, we have five confirmed overnighters. I plan on being in Asheville in a couple weeks, will do some scouting for a good restaurant. I know there is a TGI Fridays at the Biltmore exit (50 or 52) that is easy and there is gas there as well. The next exit down has some options as well, Cracker Barrel, Hardees, etc., maybe a good Chinese buffet for Steve.

Clint, so far we have just relied on each other to bring cameras and take pictures. Larry has had some good success using with his video camera. Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I think we could use some help in staging photos for sure. You should have seen us at the bottom of the dam last year trying to get 26 cars lined up for a group shot.

I am going to try to find a way to mount my camera and use the video on it. I would love to have a GoPro but really can't justify the limited use of it.
