Sorry to hear about your friends misfortune...it's a sucky feeling.
When my 79 T/A was stolen, i paced the parking lot for 30 minutes thinking one of my friends had moved it on me. Finally had to come to grips that it was gone, it's a very sinking feeling. They never did find it

I didn't get a pic of the "new" hood the guy had put on his other truck, it was a 4" all steel cowl hood that had stripes painted on it and said SS on the side the cowl, it was tacky and comical. It won't crank so he took it to the shop that built it. He's going to be asking $4000 for it once he gets it running.
He might show up at the Smokey Bones photoshoot with his red truck next weekend.

Wait a second. The theif has been driving around for almost an entire year in a stolen truck????
WTF is that all about?!
The police are trying to say that in almost a year not ONE Cop has run the tag while sitting at a stop light and saw that it was stolen? I have only JUST NOW lost 100% faith in our LEOs. I already had almost no respect for them in MD, but now, that translates to SC as well.
Tell your friend that my heart goes out to him for the BS he's gone through for the last year.

He's taking it to the shop tomorrow to try to get it fired up. I think once he hears it again he'll probably decide to keep it and fix it. It's a SBC with a nice lumpy cam, headers into flowmasters dumping just behind the cab. It used to sound really really good.
